You may be familiar with the Red Kettles that pop up around the holidays, but the Angel Tree Program is one of the Salvation Army’s highest-profile Christmas efforts and one of Sigler’s favorite ways to give back.
Each year, Sigler looks forward to participating in the Angel Tree Program where coworkers and their families can provide toys and gifts for children in need.
“The Angel Tree gift is by far my favorite purchase each year!” – Heather
The Sigler GIVE Committee coordinates the project from start to finish, working closely with the local Salvation Army Corps Officer to determine the number of Angel Tree tags Sigler would like to sponsor. The tags are then supplied to Sigler — age and gender noted on each along with the child's special Christmas requests. The suggested amount to spend is between $15-$30 and gifts are left unwrapped with each Angel Tag attached.
To ensure the tags reached as many Sigler coworkers as possible, a portable Angel Tree adorned with the tags made a visit to each department. Gifts piled up under the Sigler Christmas tree, which is always a joy to watch! The gifts were then loaded with care and dropped off to the Salvation Army. This year, Sigler was able to make Christmas a bit brighter for 34 children and their families!
